Simplified, always-on, end-to-end internet connectivity

Product: Connectivity-as-a-Service
Company: OptConnect

OptConnect, a managed wireless services provider, partnered with Cradlepoint to create Connectivity-as-a-Service, a subscription service designed to enhance and simplify business internet connectivity. Available for purchase via OptConnect's Premier Wireless Solutions (PWS) division, the solution will be supported by OptConnect, company representatives stated.

Chris Baird, CEO at OptConnect, described Connectivity-as-a-Service as a fully managed, plug-and-play solution that is simple, reliable and easy to deploy. "We are excited to partner with Cradlepoint and add its hardware solutions paired with our award-winning fully managed solutions," he said. Baird pointed out that the partnership combines Cradlepoint's leading-edge hardware and cloud-based support, OptConnect's managed services, and PWS' experienced leadership in selling Cradlepoint hardware, giving customers the benefit of having one trusted partner manage all their connectivity needs.

Premier bundled services

OptConnect representatives stated that the bundled services will include a managed Cradlepoint device paired with a primary SIM and multi-carrier backup SIM to provide failover support and out-of-band management while minimizing support calls to the primary SIM carrier. In addition, they said, OptConnect will integrate Cradlepoint's NetCloud Manager features to Summit, the company's cloud-based portfolio management platform.

Representatives also noted that customers and end-users will have OptConnect's full service bundle of managed services, which includes the following features and benefits:

  • Enhanced support services: The U.S. Network Operations Center at OptConnect will provide continuous, end-to-end support, before and after sale, including data plan management with carriers. Cloud-based monitoring and management of devices, carriers and portfolios will also be provided, with Summit platform monitoring and alerts provided through a future integration with NetCloud Manager.
  • Secure connectivity: The OptConnect secure, private IP network, which now supports global deployments through the Connectivity-as-a-Service offering, is designed to protect data and communications.
  • Device optimization: Connectivity-as-a-Service streamlines deployments and maintenance with pre-deployment configurations and provisioning and complete ongoing post-deployment support. Customers receive secondary SIM cards to manage out of band communications and maximum uptime and device obsolescence protection for 4G, 5G networks and beyond.

Maximize uptime

Baird noted that every second of lost connectivity is crippling for organizations, which is why OptConnect has bundled together a suite of managed connectivity solutions to ensure success with as little to no downtime as possible."OptConnect's latest offering with Cradlepoint provides a simple path for customers while removing all the delays, complexities, and frustrations of typical LTE deployments," he said. "As organizations transition to cellular connectivity as a primary internet service, OptConnect's Connectivity-as-a-Service will provide high levels of support and reliability."

Baird also pointed out that Connectivity-as-a-Service is a great solution for unattended devices, such as kiosks and ATMs, that require simple, easy, reliable connectivity that can be remotely monitored and managed. The solution enables sales channel partners and distributors, including ISOs, acquirers, ISVs, independent ATM deployers and merchant level salespeople, to their merchant customers.

All-in-one product offering

Connectivity-as-a-Service provides seamless functionality, and users can simply plug in their device to activate the service and let OptConnect and partners manage everything else, Baird noted. As an industry leader in managed wireless solutions, OptConnect said it has spent more than a decade perfecting Connectivity-as-a-Service, which is in use at more than 3,500 locations.

"We remove the delays, complexities and frustrations of typical cellular deployments," Baird said. "From our online dashboard where you can remotely monitor your connected device portfolio to our 24/7 Technical Support department, we bundled everything together, giving you one number to call and the assurance that your equipment will get connected quickly and stay connected." end of article
