Valutec, a full-service gift card and loyalty solutions provider and FIS Global brand, enhanced its Digital Gift Plus package. New features and functionality are designed to help merchants expand their online gift programs to engage with customers in multiple ways while enhancing their online presence with a complete digital gift service offering.
The company described the Digital Gift Plus program as a comprehensive platform that connects to ecommerce gateways to facilitate a seamless, convenient gift card purchasing experience.
Chelsea King, Senior Channel Development Manager at Valutec, noted that Valutec has been a leading gift card and loyalty provider since 1998. "We have always operated as a processor-agnostic gift and loyalty platform," she said, adding that tenured Valutec employees have served in product and service roles for more than 10 years and are true gift experts.
King further noted that Digital Gift Plus was originally introduced in April 2021 as a feature-rich solution designed to simplify online gifting while helping merchants build deeper relationships with their customers. In addition to facilitating online sales of physical and virtual gift cards, she said, the platform also allows merchants to track and understand customer data. This enables them to run tailored and targeted online exclusive offers, she added.
Payments are always evolving, King noted, and gifting needs to follow suit. The Digital Gift Plus program runs on the same trusted rails that Valutec has always offered, but in new ways, she explained. "Digital Gift Plus took Valutec to the next level," King said. "Our gift platform has always offered top tier services for the classic gifting needs, but as ecommerce has grown and COVID 19 changed buying behavior, our customers needed more than just classic gift." King went on to explain that Digital Gift Plus is a two-fold product.
On the end-user side, it offers online gift card purchase - either physical cards to be mailed or virtual cards received instantaneously. This provides easy buying options for customers regardless of where they are located or what time of day it is, she pointed out.
On the merchant side, the platform offers a suite of marketing tools including email campaigns, customer data mining, strategic advertising, and more. Merchants can use the platform's back-end portal to learn who their customers are, where they live, and when they buy; they can use this data to create catered email campaigns, online exclusives, and BOGOs, the company stated.
"Knowing your customers ensures you're spending your advertising dollars appropriately," King said, noting these capabilities can save merchants time and money while opening the door to new possibilities and growth.
Through the years, Valutec has built strong partnerships with sales channel partners and distributors, including ISOs, acquirers and merchant level salespeople, King stated, adding that partners who have added gift to merchant accounts have more credit card transactions and revenue.
The idea of gift being a "nice to have" versus a "need to have" is no longer viable, King said, adding that payments experts have to educate merchants about gift, which is a critical utility, not a simple box of cards behind the counter. When used strategically, she noted, gift can improve competitive edge, customer retention, lead generation, marketing, and more.
"For an ISO, agent, or channel partner looking to grow their book of business, gift is the solution," King said. "Not only does it promote growth of the accounts, but we offer recurring residuals for the life of the account so the channel partner benefits from both streams of revenue."
