When fine dining and fast casual establishments were closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, QSRs filled orders by kiosk, drive-up window, curbside pickup and home delivery while pushing employees and technology partners to make foodservice faster, cleaner and safer. Today, QSRs continue to deliver speed, convenience and safety at scale. This issue's lead article looks at technology innovation through the lens of service providers who helped QSRs not only survive the pandemic but also shape a new generation of digitally enhanced restaurants prepared to thrive far into the future.
