Miura Systems Ltd., a global provider of secure electronic payment hardware based in the United Kingdom with U.S. offices in Maryland, released the M010, the newest addition to the company's line of secure mobile POS solutions.
Miura's M010 platform evolved from the company's close relationships with independent software vendors (ISVs) focused on enhancing the retail experience. Retailers can use the M010 in multiple configurations, enabling them to interact with customers across all channels to foster a seamless, secure consumer payment experience, Miura noted.
The M010 platform integrates with fixed smart tablet and legacy POS systems; it can also be used as a handheld portable device within the store and in a variety of mobile settings. The device, which is EMV (Europay, MasterCard and Visa) Level 1 and 2 certified, provides merchants with a simple and affordable upgrade to secure, contact and contactless chip card technology, according to the company.

Designed for use as a mobile or fixed countertop device, the M010 platform can be connected to a tablet cash register via a charging station or unclipped and carried by store associates who can assist customers throughout a retail store or restaurant.
The M010 platform comes with its own line of optional accessories designed to be optimally compatible with a broad range of retail and hospitality environments. These accessories extend the M010's capabilities and potential uses as a terminal or peripheral. Flexible configuration options the company listed include:
Miura solutions are exclusively available through the company's global distribution channel. Miura does not sell directly to merchants. An extensive library of application programming interfaces and software development kits facilitate simple integration of Miura's platform with tablets, printers, cash drawers, barcode scanners and other third-party hardware.
