Vital to Purchase Capstone Online

V ital Processing Services has signed an agreement to purchase HNC Software's automated credit-decision service, Capstone Online, to remarket to the merchant acquiring industry. HNC Financial Solutions (see issue 00:10:01), a division of HNC Software Inc., develops customer value management software solutions for the financial services and e-commerce industries.

Capstone Online (see issue 00:10:02) has case management and automated decision-making functionality that will allow Vital's clients to automate their merchant application credit review and acceptance process. This tool will provide acquirers with access to additional business intelligence to improve merchant underwriting and pricing methodologies.

Vital Processing Services president and CEO Jonathan Palmer said, "HNC's technology will allow our clients to use a single system to oversee all merchant application decisions combined with expansive business intelligence that will provide Vital's clients with the ability to sign up merchants in minutes as opposed to days."

Vital Processing Services is a merchant processing joint venture of Visa USA and TSYS.
