Empower merchants with digital-first ecosystem

Product: AXIUM
Company: Ingenico

Ingenico, a Worldline brand and global payment technology partner, launched the AXIUM platform, the latest addition to the company's line of commerce enablement solutions. Designed to maximize digital commerce, the solution combines business tools and applications in an ecosystem that estate owners can customize, brand, manage and deploy across channels and industries, according to company representatives.

Mark Bunney, director, go to market strategy and professional services at Ingenico, recalled that AXIUM, which began as Tetra, evolved from a terminal application into a global software platform with advanced capabilities and cloud services. "As retail and payments industries migrate from static to dynamic environments, they need platforms that are easy to access and update," he said. "This has influenced product designers and equipment manufacturers to focus on building platforms for the digital-first world."

Bunney noted that AXIUM runs efficiently on Ingenico's Android POS devices, and when combined, the software and hardware platforms deliver a suite of payments and business applications to mobile, virtual and in-store environments. This end-to-end ecosystem connects merchants with banks, acquirers, software developers, ISOs and ISVs, facilitating a seamless environment that supports always-on, always-connected commerce, he added.

Android POS

Erica Eby, head of business development, North America at Ingenico, pointed out that AXIUM unlocks the power of Android and builds on Ingenico's heritage of knowledge, expertise and reliability. "AXIUM devices have been designed for the most demanding mobile and in-store use cases," she said. "They provide intuitive APIs to enrich the user experience with value-added applications."

The new device family consists of the AXIUM DX8000, AXIUM EX8000 and AXIUM EX6000, all with Android10 operating systems, flexible architecture and global APIs designed to make software development fast and efficient. Devices are supported by Ingenico's Android Competence Center, a global network of Android support specialists with expertise in technology and local and international regulatory and compliance standards.

Eby further noted that AXIUM Android estate owners can build their own app marketplaces and choose which apps to make available to users. They can also manage security, device maintenance, deployment and security and customer care without ever leaving the platform.

Partner benefits

Ingenico partners, distributors and resellers can manage diverse terminal estates and personalize the customer experience using the AXIUM platform's on-demand software upgrades, terminal refresh options and supported payment methods, Eby stated, adding that partners can also implement Ingenico's Terminal-as-a-Service licensing and delivery model.

AXIUM estate owners can use the platform to improve their own operational efficiencies. In addition, they can use it as a marketing tool to better serve customers and end-users, Eby added. "When merchants implement AXIUM, they can accept any payment method, from cards to mobile wallets or QR codes, and access a broad set of business applications, such as digital receipt management, customer loyalty, couponing or financing," she said. "They can also connect devices to accounting or inventory systems to monitor business analytics and reports."

Bunney agreed that control and customization are key advantages. "Estate owners can pick and choose the best way to represent the AXIUM platform to their merchant base," he said. "This provides flexibility and enables them to choose what they want to show the merchant and how they want to deliver it, whether it's a push down from a cloud or mobile app or button on a terminal."

As digital commerce continues to scale globally, AXIUM can help merchants and service providers connect and transact across all commerce channels, Bunney noted. Merchants don't have time to sift through a lot of apps; AXIUM estate owners can curate a catalog of relevant apps such as customer engagement, reporting or new applications that help them run their business, he added. end of article
