Product: paydeo
Company: AnywhereCommerce
AnywhereCommerce, a global mobile commerce technology provider headquartered in Montreal, created paydeo, standalone cloud-based POS software designed for today's multichannel merchants. The solution is available in the Google Play and Apple App stores under paydeopos.
The paydeo lite app and enterprise-scale versions, paydeo pro and paydeo pro+, will operate on connected, fixed and mobile devices, including PCs, laptops, iPads and Android tablets.
All versions of the software platform support hardware peripherals, including cash drawers, printers, payment card readers, barcode scanners and weight scales, the company stated.
"Paydeo is a software application that can bind an ecommerce offering to a tablet POS offering to a Facebook store," said Mitchell Cobrin, Founder and Chief Catalyst at AnywhereCommerce. "It brings all channels and platforms together in a holistic approach."
Cobrin said the solution's compatibility with an array of hardware platforms helped sales channel partners improve time-to-market by pairing it with their own pre-certified devices. "We want our partners to be able to leverage the certified aspects of their own infrastructures," he added. "Our objective is to empower our ISO and acquirer partners, unlike a host of technology companies that are disintermediating the acquirer channel."
Paydeo software platform's three apps are designed to fulfill the needs of small and midsize merchants. The lite app supports merchants with single store locations with one register and relatively small inventories of 50 items or less. The professional version is designed for single location merchants with one register and larger inventories of up to 250 products. The enterprise version, designed for merchants with three locations and up to 2,500 inventoried items, includes live support and custom themes.
The paydeo software platform is Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard compliant and supports keyed transactions, cash payments and multiple currencies. Stores can be configured to authorize only or authorize-capture, enabling retailers to bill upon shipment. A secure web administrative portal provides real-time business intelligence to facilitate inventory and order management in multiple locations across an enterprise.
Following are examples of how the software can be used in a variety of retail settings:
The next iteration of the paydeo platform will be paydeo resto, which was developed to add efficiency and deliver a holistic experience to restaurants. Features will include seating charts, split billing and a range of options to streamline order and reservation management.
Providing targeted POS software solutions to merchants is an effective way to create new sources of incremental revenue and make ISOs and merchant level salespeople a strategic resource for merchants, Cobrin noted. "Payments are complicated," he said. "Today's solutions must encompass multiple touchpoints and meet ever-changing guidelines for security, hardware and software."
In response to these challenges and the current migration to Europay, MasterCard and Visa technologies, payments industry stakeholders need timely, off-the-shelf EMV solutions that are fully brandable and customizable, Cobrin said. The dynamic payments environment also requires solution providers to be constantly vigilant in order to stay a step ahead of industry trends. "Paydeo will always be an iterative experience," he added. "We'll always be adding new functionality and flavors based on feedback from our clients."
