New Products

Docking station for secure checkout

Product: PayDock
Company: USA ePay

Payment gateway and mobile payment technology provider USA ePay recently collaborated with Payment Gear Inc. in the joint release of PayDock, an iPad-based mobile POS kiosk. The system features USA ePay's PaySaber credit card swipe technology enclosed in a durable table stand with a built-in power supply and patented locking quick release to support mobile environments.

"This product is an outstanding addition to our PaySaber family," said Martin Drake, Vice President of Business Development at USA ePay.

"It not only enforces our ongoing commitment of service to our merchants and resellers, but will open whole new markets by allowing app developers to create POS products on our platform, while benefiting from the security of our gateway and sophistication of our integrated card present technology."

Described by both companies as the "most secure and versatile" POS solution on the market, PayDock offers a streamlined design. Constructed of lightweight polycarbonate material, it weighs in at 14.5 ounces. For merchant convenience, a six-way mounting option allows for setup in tight spaces.

A patented quick release connection enables greater mobility for on-the-go merchants and its built-in power supply provides up to 8 hours of card swipe time per battery charge, the companies noted.

Multiple extensions enable docking to a variety of peripherals. PayDock permits merchants to add bar code readers, receipt printers, cash drawers and other peripherals as needed. According to the collaborative team, because PayDock is simple to configure, it's suitable for most work environments - from retail and hospitality to medical practices and law enforcement.

"We are excited to be collaborating with USAePay on this product," stated Nathan Vorwerk, President of Payment Gear. "Our aim is to provide the payments industry with disruptive technology that drives account acquisition." Payment Gear said it plans to launch other products jointly through USA ePay in the future.

The companies pointed out that PayDock is backed by USA ePay's secure and scalable mobile application programming interface, giving third-party app developers a single point of entry for front-end app development and access to mobile cloud services for browser- or native-based apps that meet Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard requirements through its gateway.

According to Payment Gear, its software-as-a-service platform also provides non-developers and merchants additional integrative options with ZingCheckout, POSLavu, ShopKeep POS Inc. and GivingFire.

Features of PayDock include:

  • Rugged enclosure for iPad-based POS systems
  • Supported by secure and scalable mobile API
  • Integrated with PCI-compliant payment gateway
  • Multiple docking points for variety of peripherals
  • Up to eight hours swipe time on single battery charge
