Simplify healthcare payments with integrated patient financing

PlexPay introduced a merchant processing and patient finance program designed to help healthcare providers streamline payments while expanding patient access to care through embedded financing.

The new program leverages U.S. Bank Avvance, the embedded point-of-sale lending solution powered by U.S. Bank, allowing healthcare practices to offer financing alongside payment acceptance through a single platform.

According to PlexPay, the launch comes as out-of-pocket healthcare spending continues to climb, creating challenges for providers seeking to improve case acceptance while reducing administrative burdens. The company cites projections from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services showing U.S. out-of-pocket healthcare expenditures are expected to increase from $597 billion in 2026 to $724 billion by 2031.

PlexPay said its platform replaces fragmented financing processes with a single credit application that serves patients across a broad range of income levels and credit profiles. The company said the streamlined workflow can reduce the time required for patients to obtain financing by up to 75 percent, allowing practice staff to spend less time on paperwork and more time supporting patients.

The patient finance program offers financing from $300 to $25,000, including 0 percent APR options for qualified applicants. Patients can view available financing offers through a soft credit inquiry without affecting their credit scores. PlexPay said the program also features transparent repayment terms with no deferred interest or hidden fees.

Beyond patient financing, the platform combines merchant processing with practice finance for healthcare providers seeking to acquire or expand practices, as well as equipment financing for purchasing or upgrading medical equipment. By bringing multiple financial services together,

PlexPay aims to give providers a single source for payments and financing throughout the business.

"Today's existing financing processes are a barrier to both providers and patients—they're slow and fragmented," said Brendon Kensel, founder and CEO of PlexPay. "By compressing what used to take 20 minutes down to less than five, we're helping providers treat more patients while giving those patients a clear, simple path to the care they deserve."

Emily Hartye, head of U.S. Bank Avvance and Point-of-Sale Lending, said integrating Avvance into the PlexPay platform enables more healthcare practices to offer patients real-time financing options with transparent repayment plans. For more information, visit plexpay.com.End of Story
