Speed self-checkout with integrated tap-to-pay
Touch Dynamic, a manufacturer of purpose-built touch technology POS solutions, launched the Summit Kiosk, its next-generation self-checkout platform and the company's first SoftPOS tap-to-pay offering. Designed to simplify deployment while expanding payment flexibility, the Summit Kiosk enables merchants to accept contactless payments directly on Android and Apple devices without the need for an external PIN pad, the company stated.
The launch marks an important milestone for Touch Dynamic as it extends its hardware expertise into more integrated, payment-forward self-service solutions. Built for retail, hospitality and enterprise environments, the Summit Kiosk combines performance, adaptability and space efficiency to meet the demands of high-volume locations.
At the center of the system is a 21.5-inch widescreen portrait display with true-flat projected capacitive (PCAP) touch technology, delivering crisp visuals and responsive interaction. Its slim footprint is designed to keep aisles open and traffic moving, making it well-suited for stores and venues where floor space and throughput are critical. Contactless payment acceptance further streamlines the checkout process, helping reduce friction and wait times for customers.
The Summit Kiosk supports a wide range of peripherals, including MSR, 2D barcode scanners, printers and payment devices, with flexible mounting options that include wall, counter, stand, and back-to-back configurations. This modular approach allows merchants to tailor deployments to specific use cases, from compact retail footprints to larger self-service zones.
Under the hood, the platform offers multiple processing options, including Intel Alder Lake, Meteor Lake and MediaTek G700 CPUs, with up to 48GB of memory and 2TB of SSD storage. The Summit Kiosk supports Windows, Linux, Android 13, and Android 13 with Google Mobile Services, giving businesses flexibility in software selection and long-term scalability. Optional wireless connectivity further simplifies installation in environments where cabling is limited.
The new kiosk reflects Touch Dynamic's broader design philosophy: building configurable, durable hardware that adapts to how businesses actually operate. With more than two decades of experience manufacturing POS and kiosk solutions, the company prides itself on designing systems to perform reliably across diverse environments—from fast-paced retail floors and restaurants to service counters and outdoor checkout lanes.
By combining SoftPOS tap-to-pay, flexible deployment options and enterprise-grade performance in a streamlined form factor, the Summit Kiosk aims to redefine what modern self-checkout can deliver, helping businesses improve efficiency, enhance customer experiences, and stay responsive as self-service expectations continue to evolve.
