Strengthen fraud expertise through self-paced training

DataVisor launched DEFEND Training, an on-demand education program designed to equip fraud, risk and AML professionals with modern skills to keep pace with today's rapidly evolving financial crime landscape. Announced during International Fraud Awareness Week, the rollout includes a partnership with the ACFE San Francisco Bay Area Chapter, enabling members to earn CPE credits. DataVisor is also opening 100 seats globally during the program's initial enrollment window.

The curriculum addresses a long-standing industry gap: traditional fraud training often emphasizes static concepts while real-world attacks mutate continuously.

Drawing on DataVisor's expertise supporting global financial institutions with AI-driven fraud detection, DEFEND Training blends strategy, practical methodology and foundational analytics.

Courses guide participants through both conceptual frameworks and applied use cases, giving new and experienced professionals a shared language for understanding modern threats.

"In honor of International Fraud Awareness Week and our shared commitment to reducing fraud worldwide, this partnership offers Certified Fraud Examiners a valuable opportunity to advance their professional competence," said ACFE SF Bay Area Chapter President Reshpal Dosanjh.

Course modules span the entire defense spectrum: an industry threat overview, a Fraud Strategy Series focused on building adaptive operations, deep dives into card, ACH, check and promo abuse scenarios, and a Machine Learning 101 track that clarifies how models work and how analysts can interpret them.

Participants earn verifiable digital certificates that can be added to résumés or professional profiles.

During beta testing, organizations reported faster analyst onboarding, improved cross-team communication and stronger analytical confidence among fraud units.

Shelley Van Zomeren of Synchrony noted that "the content is excellent, serving as a strong foundational course, particularly for operations teams without prior fraud experience."

By offering flexible, self-paced learning backed by subject-matter experts, DataVisor aims to give practitioners a modernized training path that keeps pace with innovation rather than trailing it. For more information, visit datavisor.com/defend-training. End of Story
