NextCard has formed a marketing agreement with USATODAY.com, which makes NextCard the sole marketer of credit cards on the USATODAY Web site. NextCard will also be a sponsor of Marketplace, USATODAY.com's e-commerce section.

As you know from issue 98:11:03 the concept of becoming a "sole provider" of credit cards on a particular site or search engine is not only valuable, but popular. Card companies are recognizing the value of Internet consumers, and are willing to pay for a share of the market.

Dan Springer, chief marketing officer at NextCard, said, "Our presence on USATODAY.com enables us to reach a targeted group of the online community interested in Internet-based financial services."
