Big
Brother
As much as we
complain and worry about invasion of privacy and Big Brother looking
over our shoulders, sometimes the electronic account of our financial
activities can be helpful. Such as when we can't remember where that
last 50 bucks went or who we wrote check #3345 to. Or even, as one
Ohio woman discovered, if you've been kidnapped and want to be
found.
The woman was
allegedly abducted by a stalker and held for 19 hours. Fortunately, a
botched ATM withdrawal alerted security officials at NationsBank that
someone was attempting to use the abducted woman's card, with the
wrong PIN numbers. The FBI was notified and the woman was
rescued.
So, sometimes a big
brother is a good thing to have. It could mean the difference between
life and death.
