Exercise Your Brain
We all know that we should exercise three times a week. Well,
don't worry-we're not here to tell you to hop on that bike or jump on
the treadmill. Actually, we're suggesting you exercise your brain.
Make time to
read. Start by scheduling 30 minutes, three times a week to read
industry publications. (You're on your way-you're reading The
Green Sheet!) Include publications relating to merchants you wish
to sell, such as auto aftermarket or home center magazines.
You don't have to buy the publications. You can find many at your
local library free for the perusing or you can access Electric
Library on the web at http://www.elibrary.com/search.cgi.
This site allows you to search by subject and while there is a fee
of $59.95 a year, the site offers a free 30-day trial. (As in
traditional magazines, just remember to cancel your subscription
before the trial period expires.) Regardless, $60 is a pretty good
price for a year subscription to a variety of magazines.
