Prospecting Through Speaking

 

Public speaking is one of the most commonly shared human fears. Professional salespeople face this fear daily, some with more success than others. Speaking as an expert in your industry however, can boost your confidence and your sales.

 

You know your subject. You talk about it continually. Giving a presentation on the benefits of check authorization vs. do-it-yourself check collection should be a snap. You will receive strong affirmation standing before a willing audience and explaining your program. Studies show that one out of every ten audience members will approach you after the talk about your services. That's right-10% of any audience will enter your prospect cycle.

 

Toastmasters International is a great place to hone your public speaking skills. The sole purpose of this group is to empower people to speak. Their program will enable you to learn and practice many skills to improve your sales presentations, and give you a captive, willing audience to speak to.

 

Other possibilities for speaking engagements are Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, the Chamber of Commerce, or any group that seems relevant to the economy of your community.
