The Check Industry Is Eating CrossCheck's
Dust
CrossCheck, Inc., one of the nation's leading Check Guarantee
companies continues to lead the industry in product innovation, while
the rest of the check companies seem content to simply follow.
CrossCheck(r) has made a series of announcements in recent weeks
that make it clear they are a long way from running out of new
service enhancement ideas.
"We simply believe that more declines are not a good thing for
retailers."
"Launching the new CrossCheck 950 service just in time for
Christmas is a stroke of genius," says CrossCheck's Information
Systems Vice President, Ken Royce. "Everyone knows that retail
merchants loath the poor authorization response times they receive
during the holiday season, so why not offer them the opportunity to
improve the response time by two seconds or more."
"Our major competitors continue to talk about the size of their
negative data files, and continue to decline approvals for any
consumer who is in those files."
In addition, Royce points out, "CrossCheck(r) is launching its new
Integrated Systems Digital Network (ISDN) authorization capabilities
January 1, 1997, making it the first in the industry to provide such
a service."
Ray Cook, CrossCheck's Executive Vice President of Sales and
Marketing notes, "Beginning first with our new 950 service, and
continuing with ISDN service in 1997, CrossCheck(r) merchants who
utilize either of our faster authorization technologies will earn
free air miles through American Airlines on each check guarantee
transaction. This 'Travel Awards Program' is another CrossCheck
first."
CrossCheck(r) also announced that it is enhancing the "Premium
Approval" feature announced early in 1996, through what they call a
"Bounce-Back" consumer program.
Cook, describing the Bounce Back enhancement said, "Our major
competitors continue to talk about the size of their negative data
files, and continue to decline approvals for any consumer who is in
those files. We simply believe that more declines are not a good
thing for retailers. We believe that consumers who write bad checks
and make them good in a reasonable period of time should be approved,
even when they currently owe CrossCheck(r) money."
CrossCheck's "Bounce-Back" enhancement will send letters to
consumers when they make prompt payments, directing them to the
location of other CrossCheck(r) merchants where they can shop, even
when they may still owe on another check.
"No check guarantee company in the industry has previously had any
POSITIVE contact with a consumer before this program designed by
Cross-Check(r), and no other check guarantee company will actually
create business for its retail customers," said Cook.
Finally, CrossCheck(r) has announced both a new "Accounts
Receivable" guarantee program, as well as a new "Mail Order"
guarantee program for 1997.
CrossCheck(r) continues to launch new program after new program,
not only leading the way with such innovations as Interest Payments,
Bank Fee Reimbursement, and No Fault "Error" Protection, but being
entirely alone in the marketplace on such offerings.
