A portal for ISO apps
As a provider of end-to-end management software and hardware tailored for merchant acquirers, POS Portal Inc. is dedicated to bringing innovative technology to its ISO partners.
In January 2013, after receiving accolades in 2012 from the Electronic Transactions Association, among others, for its P2 CRM software, POS Portal launched the P2 App Portal, which enables ISOs to leverage its P2 Platform to integrate new applications that enhance business functions and productivity.
"We spent the last year talking to customers and learning from the industry," stated Shobhit Kumar, Head of App Portal Partner Development at POS Portal. "We wanted to create a single space for ISOs and industry partners to connect."
In the process, POS Portal developed a portal designed to house best-of-breed solutions in a variety of categories, including applications for hardware deployment, electronic signature, automated clearing house (ACH) services, gift and loyalty programs, data storage, lead generation, ID verification and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard compliance.
Within the P2 Platform, users can integrate with third-party service providers such as ACH Direct Inc., DocuSign Inc., TINCheck and Amazon Web Services LLC. "If an ISO wants to ACH one of its merchants directly, they shouldn't have to look high and low for the solution," Kumar noted. "The P2 Platform is designed to expand; adding something like ACH capabilities should be easy. Now with our partner, ACH Direct, it is."
In addition, ISO partners gain access to POS Portal's extensive distribution network and equipment inventory. The company also pointed out that as a result of its strategic alliance with Salesforce.com, its cloud-based P2 Platform users may instantly access critical business data from virtually anywhere via a laptop, tablet or mobile device, a benefit to ISOs and merchant level salespeople who routinely operate in the field.
POS Portal reported that since launching the P2 Platform in March 2011, the platform has been deployed by over 120 different ISOs, and nearly 3,000 licensed users log into the system each day.
The platform also supports such functions as application boarding, deployment integration and residual payouts, which are all critical pieces in the daily quest for new merchants and retention of existing merchants as well.
