Compact, modern self-checkout experience for micro markets

Cantaloupe Inc., a global provider of technology solutions for self-service commerce, unveiled two major product innovations aimed at meeting the growing demand for frictionless retail: the Go Micro kiosk and the Smart Aisle. Together, these solutions enhance operational efficiency while delivering intuitive, customer-friendly experiences in locations ranging from office break rooms to public transit stations, the company stated.
The Go Micro kiosk is a compact, modern self-checkout solution built for micro markets. With an integrated barcode scanner, five-inch touchscreen and sleek form factor, the kiosk is perfect for small spaces where traditional kiosks may be impractical, Cantaloupe noted, adding that it's designed for affordability and operational simplicity, making it easier for operators to expand into new venues without sacrificing customer convenience or control.
Meanwhile, the company mentioned that the Smart Aisle offers a groundbreaking cashierless shopping experience, leveraging a blend of 3D cameras, AI and weighted-shelf technology to monitor transactions in real time. Customers enter by scanning a payment method, select their items as if shopping at a regular store, and confirm their virtual cart before exiting. The system finalizes the transaction upon departure—automating checkout while minimizing shrinkage and staff requirements, Cantaloupe added.
These new offerings join Cantaloupe's broader ecosystem of smart retail solutions, which includes kiosks like the Go Plus100, Go Max, and Go MiniX; connected coolers such as the Cooler Café; and digital payment readers for multiple global markets.
In addition, the company's Seed software suite further supports operators with tools like Remote Price Change, which lets users adjust prices across an entire fleet without ever setting foot onsite—dramatically reducing labor and maximizing pricing flexibility.
