I'm an MLS working solo from a home office. I've been at it for a couple of years, and after a time of zero momentum, business is finally taking off. I'm at the point where I need a CRM solution for tracking all my business, you know, referrals, follow-up actions taken, new account details on what the merchants' setup and needs are, reminders for future upselling, etc. I'd like to have it be cloud-based, too, so I can make use of it when I'm in the field. Can you recommend any products or services to me? Is there anything designed specifically for the payments industry?

Congratulations on your business success. As part of your research into customer relationship management (CRM) solutions, be sure to check with the ISO or ISOs with whom you are already working to see if they have recommendations.
In addition, several payment companies have designed customer relationship management (CRM) solutions for their own use, and at least one, Integrated Reporting Is Simple LLC, offers its system to other payment businesses. And in our Resource Guide, PhoneSwipe is listed under Merchant Management Software. The Green Sheet is not specifically endorsing IRIS and PhoneSwipe; the companies are two of many resources to investigate.
Also, search separately for "CRM" and"customer relationship management" using the search function on our home page, www.greensheet.com. This will provide numerous articles from our archives that mention such systems, some of which discuss what attributes to look for.
It would be useful, as well, to ask other payment professionals what CRM systems they use. A good time to do that is at industry tradeshows and events.
