Shift4 Corp. recently launched the VT4 mobile solution. Accessible through a mobile application or Web browser, the VT4 enterprise-level solution has the capability to convert Internet-connected devices into secure mobile POS systems, Shift4 reported.
"A lot of the mobile technologies on the market today simply don't provide the features that larger businesses require," said Dave Oder, Chief Executive Officer at Shift4. "Many merchants sacrificed security and PCI compliance in the rush to adopt early mobile solutions. According to Shift4, VT4 can be deployed by an unlimited number of users and merchant identification numbers enterprise-wide, which allows users to configure it to scale accordingly. The company also stated VT4 is both bank- and processor-neutral.
For anyone who chooses to switch payment processors, Shift4 hosts a 24-month rolling archive of all transactions. To ensure uninterrupted service, VT4's secure offline stand-in mode delivers an alternative source for continuous operation with predetermined thresholds based on individual users.
Additional features of the VT4 include:
"Whether a country club wants a convenient way for customers to make a concessions purchase out on the golf course, or a retailer needs more points of sale for temporary increases in transaction volume, such as during a holiday sale, VT4 is the quickest and safest way to accept mobile payments," Oder said.
For example, with the added layers of tokenization and point-to-point-encryption security built in, sensitive cardholder data never enters the mobile device, the company said. The VT4's account administrative controls offer remote access to add or disable user devices, or modify user permissions, all in real-time. The VT4 offers a white-label branding opportunity so enterprises can deliver a seamless customer experience.
