Enhance profit, efficiencies with hosted ATM, kiosk management

Product: E2 Remote Hosting Service
Company: E-Squared Systems Inc.

E-Squared Systems Inc. (E2), a fintech company founded by former PAI and Mastercard executives Donna Embry and Leland Englebardt, launched a remote hosting service for unattended kiosks and self-service terminals.

Through a collaboration with global terminal manufacturer Genmega and North American gateway provider Digital Cash Processing, the service aims to reduce the cost and complexity of operating ATMs and kiosks by leveraging ATMIA's Next Gen ATM architecture to help enterprises expediently scale and upgrade their terminal estates, according to Donna Embry, CEO at E2.

"Device operators will have a better way to respond to changing consumer needs and to manage their terminals in a much simpler, more secure and more profitable manner," Embry said, adding that E2 uses a remote hosted terminal manager to reduce the need to support payment applications at the terminal level and provide terminal operators with nearly instantaneous operating and terminal management information.

Englebardt, president at E2, agreed, stating E2's objective is to reduce the need for onsite service calls. "The net result for terminal operators is fewer technician visits to terminals, reduced need for hardware and software upgrades to terminals, greater resistance to logical attacks on terminals, and greater opportunities for terminal operators to add revenue-producing functionality quickly and with less downtime," he said. "All these advantages mean lower costs, higher revenue and more satisfied customers for every terminal using the E2 service."

Secure, adaptable architecture

Englebardt further noted that ATMs are one of history's greatest consumer innovations and will continue to serve as a preferred financial services touchpoint for many years to come, despite current cashless trends. Having seen numerous cash alternative solutions succumb to malicious attacks, he urged organizations to deploy agile, adaptable technology to meet ever-changing consumer requirements and preferences.

"Financial self-service terminals must adapt rapidly to expanding consumer desires for new services, from the advent of non-physical forms of value like cryptocurrency and central bank digital currency, to growing fraud threats and ever-evolving regulations," he said. "A different and more efficient infrastructure is needed to enable these changes and E2 provides this infrastructure."

Englebardt mentioned several additional features and benefits of E2's remote hosting service. Among them are that E2:

  • Reduces labor costs by connecting financial self-service terminals to an offsite hosted virtual terminal manager, enabling real-time updates without the need for on-site technicians.
  • Centralizes processes through centralized application processes and integration at scale on behalf of client terminals and value-added services providers.
  • Provides advanced data analytics with near-real time terminal operating data and availability of additional functions.
  • Offers real-time decisioning from relocating terminal decision-making to the cloud, reducing storage and information processing requirements for individual terminals.
  • Improves efficiencies by minimizing the time and effort involved in adding and updating terminal functionality.
  • Increases security through enhanced oversight and reduced vulnerabilities, increasing the security of internal terminal operations. All terminal functions are protected against takeover by strong cryptography and "zero trust" architecture.

Secure, flexible, cost-effective

In a presentation on how to improve security, expand functionality and lower ATM costs at the ATMIA 2023 U.S. Conference, Englebardt mentioned that remote hosting can help organizations rapidly grow and scale their financial self-service terminal estates.

E-Squared Systems Inc. is a fintech company focused on helping ATM and kiosk owners and deployers deliver agile, secure, transparent financial self-service solutions while reducing the costs and complexities related to managing and implementing them, Englebardt stated. He also emphasized that the E2 cloud-based hosted management service for ATMs and kiosks is designed to be secure, simple and scalable. end of article
