Product: SmartVista for Retailers

BPC Banking Technologies, an open system payment provider to the financial industry, unveiled SmartVista for Retailers in April. Built upon BPC's multilayered SmartVista platform, the integrated payment processing system is designed to deliver both flexibility and security.

"For many years, BPC has helped financial organizations and banks manage relations with merchants and consumers," said Marc Solomon, Managing Director, BPC U.S.A. "Now we've taken that experience to create SmartVista for Retailers which helps retailers compete by differentiating their businesses from the competition, improving customer experience and driving additional revenue."

According to BPC, SmartVista for Retailers offers a multichannel, multicurrency, multilingual, multi-institution and multi-acquirer platform that can be configured to individual POS networks. For example, it can support one or more retail locations and multiple departments. It features a choice of payment options including Europay/MasterCard/Visa chip, mag stripe, contactless, mobile, credit, debit, prepaid, gift and virtual cards, as well as voucher payments.

BPC pointed out that the loyalty component allows merchants to build and manage programs, whether integrated with an existing system to collect data and calculate loyalty points, or connected with an external system to share information for a co-branded loyalty program. Redemption settings can be set up based on such criteria as cash, discounted goods, free items or fee reductions.

Additional benefits of SmartVista for Retailers include:

BPC reported that merchants using the system's routing and authorization capabilities can rest assured that service charges are kept to a minimum and that continuity of service is consistent due to its stand-in authorization feature. And SmartVista has been certified as Payment Card Industry (PCI) Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) compliant. In addition, BPC's SmartGuard real-time fraud prevention tool is available as an add-on.
