Increase hotel revenue with integrated payment tools

Mews expanded the payments capabilities of its hospitality operating system with three new features designed to help hotels generate additional revenue, improve cash flow and automate financial processes before, during and after a guest's stay.

The enhancements include Recurring Payments, an expanded Multicurrency offering for North America, and Accounts Receivable automation, extending the platform's role beyond property management into revenue optimization.

Recurring Payments enables hotels to automate billing for extended-stay guests, memberships, co-working spaces and other subscription-based services. Properties can configure payment schedules once, allowing the system to collect payments automatically without manual intervention.

Mews said the feature has already been piloted by more than 100 properties, creating more than 16,000 payment plans while helping reduce administrative work and payment delays.

The company also expanded Multicurrency to support online payments in the United States and Canada, with in-person payment capabilities planned for a future release. The feature allows international guests to pay in their home currency while enabling hotels to retain a share of the currency conversion revenue that traditionally goes to financial institutions.

Mews said nearly 5,000 European hotels have collectively generated €1.55 million (US $1.77 million) in additional revenue since the feature debuted there, with some properties offsetting a significant portion of their software subscription costs through multicurrency transactions.

Completing the revenue lifecycle is Accounts Receivable, which automates invoice generation, payment reminders, collections and reconciliation. Available initially for properties operating in euro markets, the solution provides finance teams with real-time visibility into outstanding balances while helping accelerate collections after checkout.

Mews said internal data shows hotels often wait a week or more after checkout before issuing invoices, delaying cash flow and increasing the risk of unpaid balances. Together, the new capabilities enable hospitality businesses to streamline payment operations while creating new revenue opportunities throughout the guest journey. They also illustrate the growing role of embedded payments within vertical software platforms,

Mews supports more than 15,000 hospitality properties in 85 countries, providing an integrated platform that combines property management, POS, revenue management, housekeeping and payments into a single operating system. For more details, please visit www.mews.com. End of Story
