Develop, certify, deploy payments apps in record time

Product: APEX
Company: Ingenico

Ingenico, a global provider of payments acceptance solutions, launched AXIUM Payment Experience (APEX), an application designed to simplify and accelerate customized payments app development, certification and deployment. The solution includes a range of retail, grocery, restaurant and hospitality functionalities within a secure base framework, stated Brad Giles, senior vice president, marketing and sales enablement at Ingenico.

"At Ingenico, we bring payment technology, cloud services and partnership to the payment ecosystem," he said. "We deliver all three to the market, all with equal importance and working in harmony for the betterment of our partners who are reselling our technology and the ecosystem in general, which includes the merchant."

APEX streamlines the process of creating a customized payments app, which frees developers to focus on adding value to the payment transaction while reducing time to market, Giles stated, adding the new app provides payment solution functionalities that meet North American customer requirements and caters to a range of industries and merchant environments.

End-to-end payments management

Peter Stewart, head of the North American region at Ingenico, noted that the end-to-end process of creating a market-specific payments app can take up to 12 months when including the required value-add functionality for specific merchant segments and their associated consumer customers.

"With APEX, our customers are provided with a strong and secure base of payment functionality, so they can focus on adding unique features that bring value to both their merchant customers and the consumer, for a fraction of the time and cost and in a modular licensing model," he said.

Giles pointed out that APEX is built on the AXIUM platform, which supports Android payment devices and APIs, providing a bridge from third-party apps to the Ingenico Payment Platform as a Service (PPaaS) and numerous value-added applications. For example, he stated, Ingenico customers can use the "North America Unified API (NUA)" to integrate gift cards, loyalty programs, surveys and other value-added programs quickly and easily, including cross-border solutions that service multiple countries across North American through a single application.

The AXIUM platform, which underpins APEX, streamlines the process of creating custom payments apps by providing a secure base framework upon which these apps can be quickly built and certified, company representatives stated, adding that these capabilities facilitate faster time to market in the rapidly evolving payments landscape.

The APEX payment app is designed to fully integrate with Ingenico Estate Manager, which enables users to schedule and remotely manage software upgrades, configure changes and tailor merchant software according to their needs, furthering the creation of software and licensing opportunities, Giles noted.

Sales channel partner benefits

With this app, Ingenico's ISO, agent, gateway, acquiring, and reseller customers can focus on creating a more meaningful merchant and consumer experience, while realizing the benefits of a connected ecosystem, the company noted.

Giles additionally said that APEX enables customers and partners to dedicate more time to adding value and tailoring payments apps to the specific merchant segments they serve. By adding APEX to their payment software portfolio, he noted, banks and acquirers can greatly reduce development costs and time and achieve quick scalability with easy integration of value-adding applications. Ultimately, he added, this leads to an improved end-user experience and a competitive edge for our customers and partners in the payments industry.

"Enabling our customers to easily add value to their merchant customers is at the heart of all Ingenico solutions, and APEX is another example of this," Giles said. "Our customers can now focus their resources on customizing payment transactions for the markets they serve and do so in less time. Combined with NUA,  APEX can also be a bridge to PPaaS, opening access to a wide range of value-added applications to enhance both our customers and the consumer experience." end of article
