Illuminated check presenter turns heads and tables

Product: Illuminated Check Presenter

Ready Check Glo Inc., a New York-based company established in 2010, has a bright idea for improving the overall hospitality experience. The company's illuminated check presenter won "Best-in-Show" at New York's 2011 International Restaurant and Food Service Show, and "Best New Product" at the International Hotel, Motel, and Restaurant Show held at Jacob Javits Convention Center the following year. In addition, Ready Check Glo check presenters have been seen at Four Seasons, Ruth's Chris Steak House, W Hotel, and other premium hotels, bars, and restaurants worldwide.

An enlightening experience

Ready Check Glo Chief Executive Officer Celestina Pugliese was dining with a friend when she got the idea for Ready Check Glo. She was enjoying an optimal restaurant experience until it came time to pay the check. Repeated visits from the server, who continually asked if they were ready to pay the check, began to annoy the two guests. Pugliese resolved to find an easier way for customers to signal that they are "ready to pay the check and go." Thus, Ready Check Glo was born.

Ready Check Glo said its presenters have clear, brandable windows that discreetly signal wait staff by lighting up when customers are ready to pay. They are also equipped with inside lights to facilitate reading bills in darkened environments. Mini LED lights are powered by lithium batteries with a reported average shelf life of six to nine months. A range of color options is available. Plus, additional batteries can be purchased directly from the company at a discount.

Glowing results

Merchant end-users of the product have reported improved table turnover, increased tips, and enhanced engagement with customers, Ready Check Glo noted.

Pugliese said she has seen average table turn decrease from a minute to 38 seconds. "On an average night, the time saved can mean as much as two extra tables per shift," she said. "While that might not sound like a lot, over time, it adds up."

Ready Check Glo pointed out that it offers complete services, competitive pricing and quality customer care to distributor customers. In addition, ISOs and merchant level salespeople can bundle these customizable presenters with other products and services for select hospitality merchants, and use them as a competitive differentiator.
