Analytics for mainstream merchants

Alpharetta, Ga.-based MainStream Merchant Services Inc. teamed with San Francisco-based technology company Womply to create the MainStream Insights merchant analytics platform. The system was designed to manage and monitor merchant revenues, online reputation and social media through a central online dashboard.

"By partnering with Womply, we continue to deliver a hands-on, consultative approach to payment processing," said J. Vignale, MainStream President. "MainStream Insights will offer a premier business intelligence and analytics tool, which gives our customers a new view into their own business."

According to MainStream, merchants using the platform can view critical business performance metrics including revenue, transaction volume and average ticket. The competitor monitoring tool allows merchants to select competitors to track and then reports on developments in their marketing, operations and customer service practices. The competitive benchmarking feature tracks key performance metrics for comparable businesses nearby.

The reputation alert and monitoring feature enables merchants to respond to online reviews and ratings for reputation protection. The business trends tool quantifies the impact of social media and marketing campaigns by tying revenue with actions online, the company said.

Other features include market intelligence on local events that could impact merchants, so merchants can react quickly to adapt to changing conditions. And the customer intelligence tool provides insights into how customers are spending their money by neighborhood and business vertical.
