Mobile checkout in a snap

Product: SnapMobile
Company: BlueSnap Inc.

Global e-commerce platform provider BlueSnap Inc. recently introduced SnapMobile, a mobile optimization technology designed to help multichannel merchants reduce customer attrition by delivering a seamless shopping experience on a variety of electronic devices.

"A bad user experience typically means the loss of a sale, while leaving a negative brand perception with shoppers," said Ralph Dangelmaier, Chief Executive Officer at BlueSnap. "Maximizing revenue for our merchants is what BlueSnap does, and serving up content to shoppers in a usable way, as they wish to consume it, is at the very core of who we are."

With SnapMobile, merchants have the option of creating two identical checkout pages for a single product, one for PC and the other for mobile devices.

According to BlueSnap, the software automatically detects which template to display based on the type of device the shopper is using. Up-sells, cross-sells, coupon and bundled offers may be integrated as part of the checkout process, as well.

BlueSnap noted that the software provides real-time access to critical merchant information, including revenue reports, sales performance data analysis, product unique hits versus actual sales, customer information on sales that failed to close successfully, and month-over-month comparisons of overall and individual product sales extending back two years.

Other customizable features include catalog management with simple to update product settings based on merchant defined pricing models, branded template settings and monitoring of order page behavior. Flexible pricing and multicurrency options permit merchants to respond instantaneously to shifts in market preferences, according to BlueSnap.

The platform can manage recurring charges for subscription-based businesses. For instance, a global failover mechanism automatically retries a failed transaction at a different processor.

The automatic payment request system makes it possible to send out scheduled payment reminders. And the system's retry mechanism automatically retries failed subscriptions at timed intervals during a predetermined grace period.

BlueSnap noted that in addition to optimizing its platform, it has created a customizable user interface, so merchants can brand the shopper experience from the initial point of contact to completion of the checkout process. Individual checkout pages can be customized based on design, number of fields and preferred payment methods. For retailers that may require it, BlueSnap also provides secure product-file hosting services.

Features of SnapMobile include:

  • Mobile optimization to enhance the checkout process
  • Dual matching checkout pages for PC and mobile devices
  • Full API integration with custom single-click purchase option
  • Robust catalog, multicurrency, coupon and loyalty features
  • Real-time reporting, order management and post-sale communications
