Philadelphia, May 27, 2026—Second Quarter 2026 Price and Inflation Expectations Survey May 27, 2026
The Philadelphia Fed has released the Second Quarter 2026 Price and Inflation Expectations Survey, which asks business leaders in the Third District to provide forecasts on changes in their products’ prices, employee compensation, and U.S. inflation. Results from the second quarter of 2026 showed:
Compared with firms’ first quarter 2026 expectations and reported second quarter 2026 price growth, firms expect a slightly smaller rise in their own prices over the next year.
Firms expect a similar rise in compensation costs relative to their expectations in recent quarters.
Firms’ expectations for U.S. inflation rose after holding steady for two consecutive quarters.
