Washington DC, October 30, 2025 – Founders Bank today announced the appointment of Karen Grau to its Board of Directors, effective September 16, 2025.

Until her retirement last month, Karen Grau served as the Executive Vice President and CFO of Founders Bank. She played a key role in the bank’s inception and rapid growth, emphasizing financial policy development and risk management. Her expertise also includes directing comprehensive financial reporting, internal audits, and managing complex financial products.

Grau built a robust banking career spanning over four decades, marked by significant leadership roles in financial management and reporting within various institutions. Beginning as Chief Financial Officer at FBR National Bank & Trust, she successfully navigated a charter conversion and acquisition, meeting stringent regulatory demands. Grau had a pivotal role in establishing new community banks such as Congressional Bank and Monument Bank, overseeing their growth and financial stability, and managing key relationships with regulatory bodies. Grau a Montgomery County, Maryland resident is an original Washingtonian and received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of the District of Columbia.
