Third Quarter 2026—Price and Inflation Expectations Survey Philadelphia, August 26, 2026—The Philadelphia Fed has released the Third Quarter 2026 Price and Inflation Expectations Survey, which asks business leaders in the Third District to provide forecasts on changes in their products’ prices, employee compensation, and U.S. inflation. Results from the third quarter of 2026 showed:

Compared with firms’ second quarter 2026 expectations, firms expect a smaller rise in their own prices over the next year.

Firms’ expectations for growth of their own prices are in line with firms’ reported price changes over the past year.

Firms expect a similar rise in compensation costs relative to their expectations last quarter.

Firms’ expectations for U.S. inflation fell after rising last quarter.
