BALBOA | CORP Strengthens Advisory Board With Austin Campbell and Richard Douglas

Stablecoin infrastructure company strengthens advisory board with former Paxos treasury head and experienced fintech founder as it advances real-time trade settlement for shipping and cross-border commerce

August 4th 2026 - BALBOA | CORP, Panama’s first local stablecoin issuer and infrastructure company focused on shipping, trade settlement and escrow, today announced that Austin Campbell, founder and CEO of Zero Knowledge Group and former Head of Treasury at Paxos, has joined its advisory board.

Campbell leads a new round of appointments that also includes Richard Douglas, a three-time fintech founder and independent director with deep expertise in risk management, compliance and payments technology.

These appointments reinforce BALBOA | CORP’s commitment to building bank-grade, compliant stablecoin infrastructure for global trade.

Kevin Conabree, co-founder and CEO of BALBOA | CORP, said that Campbell’s and Douglas’s experiences “bridge the worlds of traditional banking and digital assets, ensuring Balboa’s stablecoin can operate within formal trade‑finance structures.”

Austin Campbell brings truly global experience in bridging traditional finance and digital assets. He previously managed more than $22 billion in reserves at Paxos, then the world’s third-largest stablecoin issuer, and helped design the widely used BUSD stablecoin for Binance. He has led trading and digital asset businesses at JP Morgan, Citi, and Stone Ridge. Through Zero Knowledge Group, Campbell now advises banks, asset managers, stablecoin issuers and payments companies. He is also an adjunct professor at NYU Stern and a frequent expert witness before the U.S. Congress.

Austin Campbell said he is “excited to support a platform that solves critical payment delays in global trade and offers a great USD-native hedge for institutional use from the ground-up," noting that BALBOA | CORP’s USD‑backed stablecoin provides the compliance and programmability needed for institutional trade finance.

A founder of three fintech companies, Richard Douglas currently advises high-growth projects in payments, blockchain and stablecoins. His career covers risk management, regulatory compliance and payments technology. He holds designations as a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), AWS Certified Architect, Certified Cryptocurrency Expert and Accredited Director, among others, and has served as an independent director on fintech boards.

Douglas’s career has been defined by building and governing businesses at the forefront of financial services innovation.

Richard Douglas commented that BALBOA | CORP is “building the rails to synchronise money and cargo, reducing demurrage costs and providing the governance and risk controls required by regulators and shipping operators.”
