AsiaPay, UATP aim to expand digital payment reach in Asia-Pacific region

Tuesday, August 26, 2025 — 16:28:19 (UTC)

WASHINGTON, Aug. 26, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- UATP, the global network that enables organizations to simplify payment processes to expand their capabilities, has announced a new partnership with AsiaPay, a leading electronic payment service and technology provider. This partnership allows AsiaPay to connect to merchants through Ceptor®, UATP's in-house Alternative Form of Payment (AFP) processing solution.

This strategic partnership allows UATP Merchants to seamlessly add AsiaPay's payment options and support growing customer demand for digital payments. AsiaPay operates in 17 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, providing local support and expertise in key markets including Hong Kong, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, and China.

'Partnering with UATP marks a strategic leap forward for AsiaPay,' said Joseph Chan, CEO of AsiaPay. 'By integrating into UATP's global payment infrastructure, we can empower airlines, travel agencies, and merchants across APAC with seamless, more comprehensive payment solutions. This collaboration not only facilitates alternative payment options for corporate travel but also streamlines payment reconciliation, extending their digital payment capabilities across high-growth Asian markets.'

"The strategic partnership with AsiaPay adds a key new AFP option in many valuable markets for UATP Merchants," said UATP CEO, Ralph Kaiser. "By integrating AsiaPay's robust payment solutions, we are giving our customers the opportunity to boost revenue, elevate customer experience, and foster loyalty across many key markets." AFPs offered by AsiaPay through UATP's Ceptor include Touch 'n Go, MoMo, LINE Pay, and GCash; additional offerings are available.

Ceptor allows UATP Merchants to access hundreds of AFPs offered by UATP without incurring significant integration costs or adopting new reconciliation processes. UATP technology adapts to each AFP's unique integration, reconciliation and support model. This allows a UATP Merchant to easily work with a UATP AFP partner, using the same reconciliation process they are accustomed to without investing significant resources to manually reconcile and settle each new set of AFP transactions.
