Cenfri joins Mojaloop Foundation’s global partner program

July 9, 2025--WAKEFIELD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Mojaloop Foundation announced today that Cenfri, the South Africa-based independent think tank dedicated to enabling inclusive financial and economic growth, has joined its growing Global Partner Program. Cenfri’s expertise in market development, regulatory frameworks and policy design will further empower the Mojaloop Foundation’s mission to advance inclusive instant payment systems (IIPS) worldwide.

This initiative brings together organizations across technology, policy, research and financial sectors—including AfricaNenda, FNA, Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) and Modular Open-Source Identity Platform (MOSIP), and now Cenfri—to collaboratively address barriers to financial inclusion.

Under a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Mojaloop Foundation and Cenfri will work together to develop strategies, regulatory frameworks and policy guidelines to foster the successful adoption of inclusive instant payment systems. The goal of the collaboration is for Cenfri to work with adopters of the Mojaloop platform to help them design sound policy and regulatory frameworks that will accelerate the adoption of instant payments.

Collaborative Development: Co-creation of tools and technologies to enhance payment system interoperability and affordability. Engagement Initiatives: Joint efforts to raise awareness and demand for open-source IIPS and Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) solutions. Thought Leadership: Advancing policies, standards and innovations like ISO 20022 evolution, AI applications in payments, stablecoins and cross-border transactions. The addition of Cenfri to this program strengthens its global reach, helping more countries deploy effective, inclusive payment solutions that meet local needs while aligning with international best practices.
