Phillipa Wilson, Peter Tapling take on leadership roles in FPC Board of Directors

Bentonville, Ark., July 8, 2025 – The U.S. Faster Payments Council (FPC), a membership organization devoted to advancing safe, easy-to-use faster payments in the United States, today announced the appointment of Phillipa Wilson, Vice President, of US Faster Payments Strategy at Mastercard, as Chairperson of its Board of Directors. Peter Tapling, Managing Director of PTap Advisory, LLC, has been appointed Vice Chairperson of the Board and will also serve as Chair of the FPC Operations Committee.

Phillipa Wilson brings extensive experience in driving faster payments strategy and product partnerships to her new role on the FPC Board. At Mastercard, she is responsible for developing strategic relationships that support the growth of faster payments in the United States. Her career includes leadership roles at J.P. Morgan and American Express, where she built and scaled payments products and go-to-market strategies, led customer-focused innovation initiatives, and championed the adoption of modern payments infrastructure.

Peter Tapling is a longtime leader and advisor in payments, fraud, and identity. Through his consultancy PTap Advisory, he advises financial institutions, technology providers, and investors on strategic issues related to innovation, payments, and risk. Peter has contributed to many key advancements in the space, including mobile authentication, PKI, faster payments, and blockchain. He has been an active participant in the FPC since its inception.
