Velera to provide Peach State FCU with credit, debit card processing

Tuesday, June 03, 2025 — 17:25:15 (UTC)

St. Petersburg, Fla. (June 3, 2025) – Velera, the nation’s premier payments credit union service organization (CUSO) and an integrated financial technology solutions provider, is pleased to announce it is providing Peach State Federal Credit Union (Peach State FCU) with debit and credit card processing support.

Peach State FCU serves over 70,000 members throughout Georgia and South Carolina and has $1+ billion in assets. Originally founded in 1961 as Gwinnett Teachers Credit Union by a group of educators dedicated to helping their local community, the credit union’s name was later changed to better reflect its broader, growing membership base.

Peach State FCU set out to identify a partner that could deliver innovative solutions to overcome the challenges in today’s ever-changing payments landscape. The credit union was introduced to Velera during a comprehensive RFP process, at which point they discovered the CUSO offered numerous products that would provide payment processing solutions to meet their members’ evolving needs. Peach State FCU selected Velera due to its impressive suite of member-first tools, advanced technology and shared vision in delivering exceptional service through the “people helping people” credit union philosophy.

“We are excited to work alongside an innovative payments provider like Velera that will allow us to better meet the evolving financial needs of our members,” said Peach State FCU Chief Operating Officer/Project Management Laura Ryll. “A shared vision of delivering exceptional service, deepening relationships and a commitment to the credit union philosophy makes us confident we have selected the right company to work with.”

Velera will begin providing credit card processing support in August 2025 and add debit the following month.

“We are honored that Peach State FCU selected Velera and are looking forward to working together to help their team adapt to and keep pace with the dynamic payments landscape,” said Yvonne Stelpflug, SVP, Client Growth Management at Velera. “We are confident that our card processing solutions and shared dedication to industry-leading service for credit union members will help position Peach State FCU to succeed and grow.”
