Clearent appoints Knibb as new CFO

Thursday, July 14, 2016 — 14:56:29 (EDT)

Clayton, Md., July 14, 2016 – Today Clearent announced that Chris Knibb has joined the payment processing company as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Knibb joins Clearent from Express Scripts, a Fortune 22 pharmacy benefit management company, where he was Vice President of Financial Planning Analysis. With more than 20 years of financial leadership experience, ranging from a technology start-up to a $100 billion revenue organization, Knibb is well positioned to make an immediate impact at Clearent.

During his time at Express Scripts, Knibb was instrumental in the integration of the company’s $29 billion acquisition of Medco and was responsible for entity-wide financial planning and analysis. Prior to Express Scripts, Knibb spent five years at Patriot Coal Corporation as VP, Controller, and Chief Accounting Officer and helped lead the company after it was spun-off from Peabody Energy. Before that, Knibb was VP Finance and CFO North America at American Power Conversion and also served as VP Corporate Controller at Savvis, Inc. Prior to moving to St. Louis in 2003 to work at Savvis, Knibb spent eight years in a variety of roles including public accounting at PricewaterhouseCoopers as well as serving as the Controller of a start-up tech company.

Knibb’s success in financial leadership will be a valuable asset as Clearent continues to grow. Clearent first entered the payments industry in 2005 by building its own proprietary back-end processing platform that connects directly to the card brands. Since then, the company has grown into a processor, gateway, and acquirer – all in one. It provides secure payment solutions that help merchants process payments just about anywhere. Looking to the future, the company is seeking new ways to uphold its high growth rate. This includes investing in top quality talent such as Knibb, identifying efficiencies, and exploring new ways to scale its operation.

“I am thrilled to have Chris Knibb on board as our CFO,” said Dan Geraty, CEO of Clearent. “He is a proven leader with a solid record of propelling organizations of all sizes and industries to the next level. With the addition of Chris along with several other strategic new hires, I am confident that we will be able to achieve our targets and help our sales partners achieve theirs.”

“The fact that Clearent’s growth over the past 11 years has been 100% organic speaks volumes to Dan’s vision and leadership as well as the caliber of his team,” said Chris Knibb, newly appointed CFO of Clearent. “I am pleased to join such a talented team, and believe that the company’s most impressive growth is on the horizon.”
