TrustCommerce now EMV certified on First Data Rapid Connect platform

Thursday, August 27, 2015 — 12:19:41 (EDT)

Irvine, Calif., Aug. 27, 2015 -- TrustCommerce®, the leading provider of secure payment solutions, is pleased to announce that we have completed EMV certification to the First Data Rapid Connect platform on all four card brands. In addition, TrustCommerce is one of the first to certify for EMV debit transactions.

Fraud in the United States is estimated at more than $8.6 billion in annual cost. Europay, MasterCard, and Visa (EMV®) chip card transactions seek to reduce the escalating cost of card-present counterfeit fraud losses.

“We are pleased to be an early adopter of EMV in order to meet our clients’ payment security objectives,” said Rob Caulfield, Chief Executive Officer of TrustCommerce. “Even with EMV, it is imperative that merchants employ multi-layered security that includes encryption and tokenization. We continue to provide the most comprehensive payment solutions available, simplifying payments and compliance, with the ability to support multiple financial institutions so that our merchants can have genuine choice with competitive pricing and flexibility.”

TC IPA™, Integrated Payment Application TrustCommerce is currently working on moving our EMV functionality for First Data clients into production for our new cloud based integrated payment application, TC IPA™.

Built to address EMV and security, the TC IPA product offers a semi-integrated approach where TrustCommerce will interact with third-party applications and the device. In its basic form, it will relieve our clients and their third-party software solutions of their own EMV certification and will come with the security features TrustCommerce is known for, such as encryption and tokenization with the goal of maximizing PCI DSS scope reduction. More will be shared on this dynamic product and its capabilities as we complete development.

“We have pioneered major payment industry security milestones in tokenization, encryption and encrypting devices,” said Caulfield. “The TC IPA product has us positioned to make another ground-breaking advancement in payment technology.”

Device Support TrustCommerce leverages Ingenico's Telium series point of sale (POS) products to support EMV for merchants along with point-to-point encryption (P2PE). With global expertise in EMV chip technology, Ingenico was selected due to the broad line of devices that share a common EMV kernel thus allowing a single certification.

Multi-Layered Security TrustCommerce solutions enable merchants to protect transactions using multi-layered security which includes point-to-point encryption, tokenization, and seamless redirect. This allows merchants to safeguard their customers’ information and their company’s brand and reputation.
