Passport Mobile Pay powers payments at Cincinnati parking meters

Monday, July 27, 2015 — 11:47:32 (EDT)

Cincinnati, July 27, 2015 -- No more running back to the meter in Cincinnati. The City has introduced the industry-leading Passport mobile parking payment app to all of the City’s 5,000 on-street parking meters. With Passport’s service, parkers can use their mobile phones to pay for parking without walking up to the meter at all.

This service presents drivers with the much simpler option of paying for parking. Parkers can also extend their parking session, view all mobile parking transactions, and receive a reminder 15 minutes before their parking session expires.

The City of Cincinnati chose to partner with Charlotte, NC based Passport in order to bring this service to their residents and visitors. Passport, the largest mobile parking payment provider in North America, has successfully launched in cities like Chicago, Boston, Toronto, and Tucson.

“We’re looking forward to bringing this added convenience to the parking experience in Cincinnati,” said Bob Youakim, co-CEO of Passport. “It’s a partnership that we’re very excited about and we feel strongly that parkers in Cincinnati will be just as excited.”

Parking meters will not display time remaining for time purchased through the PassportParking app. However, enforcement agents will have a wireless handheld device displaying whether a parker has paid through the service.

Drivers can begin to take advantage of this technology this summer. Users can register by downloading the PassportParking app from the iPhone App Store or Android Google Play. Parkers can learn more about the service or create an account by going to www.cincyezpark.com .
