FS-ISAC taps Carlson as Chief of Staff

Reston, Va., May 21, 2015 – FS-ISAC, The Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center, today announced hat John W. Carlson will join the FSISAC leadership team as chief of staff. Carlson will report to Bill Nelson, President and CEO, FS-ISAC and begins on June 8.

Carlson joins the FSISAC after 12 years at BITS, the technology policy division of the Financial Services Roundtable where he served in a variety of leadership roles including Executive Vice President with responsibility for cybersecurity, vendor management, emerging technologies and collaboration with US government agencies and other associations. Carlson also serves on the Executive Committee of Financial Services Sector Coordinating Council (FSSCC).

Carlson has also served in leadership roles at Morgan Stanley, Office of the Comptroller of Currency, U.S. Office of Management and Budget, Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, and United Nations Center for Human Settlements. Carlson holds a Masters in Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a B.A. from the University of Maryland, where he served on the Board of Regents.
