Speaking proposals sought for 2015 Smart Card Alliance summit

Princeton Junction, N.J., Sept. 23, 2014 -- The Smart Card Alliance is now accepting speaking proposals on innovations and developments for payments across retail, mobile and transit markets for the 2015 Payments Summit. The 8th Annual Smart Card Alliance Payments Summit will be held on Feb. 3-5, 2015 at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah. The conference will feature more than 70 payments industry leaders speaking on developments in EMV, near field communications (NFC), contactless and open payment transit systems, and other payment innovations. "Changes to the U.S. payment system are happening fast and frequently with accelerating adoption of EMV chip cards, growth of NFC, especially with the recent Apple Pay announcement, and increasing use of open payments and mobile ticketing in transit. These developments are fundamentally changing the way consumers transact, and opening up new and exciting business opportunities," said Randy Vanderhoof, executive director of the Smart Card Alliance. "The Payments Summit is a great opportunity for thought leaders to share their insights and collaborate with their peers on how to best take advantage of these opportunities and create an enhanced and more secure payment experience in the U.S."

The conference program advisory committee is looking for vendor-neutral, educational presentations that focus on the issuance and usage of smart cards and alternative smart technology that fall into one of the following categories:

  • EMV, contactless and card payments implementations
  • Mobile and NFC-enabled payments implementations
  • Transit payment systems implementations and technologies
  • Alternate payment systems implementations and technologies
  • Business cases and market overviews

The conference is open to all individuals and organizations who wish to learn about the real-life applications of payments technologies and systems.
