Thursday, April 17, 2014 — 14:41:01 (EDT)

Atlanta, April 14, 2014 -- InComm, a leading prepaid product and transaction services company, is pleased to announce it is further solidifying its long-term relationship with Asda, the UK-based subsidiary of the world's largest retail chain, Walmart.

InComm and Asda have worked to expand the already successful gift card category in stores to now offer more than 45 brands spanning multiple categories including retail, music, apps, digital content, gaming, lifestyle and entertainment.

In addition, Asda and InComm continue to lead the way in developing this category by launching gift cards in the self-service checkout areas of stores. Asda is the first retailer in Europe to implement this process, enabling customers to purchase third-party gift cards using a self-service checkout with no intervention required by Asda staff. Recently having launched in over 200 stores, displays around the self-service checkout area carry up to 70 card facings, with plans for expansion already in discussion.

Katie Walley, Head of Cards and Lending at Asda, said, "We have recently renewed our long-standing partnership with InComm due to their continued dedication to the Asda account. They share our passion to deliver the right solutions to our customers which is fundamental to us delivering our ambitious plans for this developing category across both store and digital formats."

In conjunction with its in-store expansion, InComm has also worked with Asda to develop the ability to purchase gift cards through Asda.com. This new launch will enable customers to purchase third-party gift cards online and have the physical card delivered to their requested address. Currently there are over 25 different brands to choose from with further plans to expand the range already underway.

Frank Monaco, SVP and GM of International, InComm, said, "InComm has a long-standing relationship with Asda and Walmart across the globe and these latest developments demonstrate our continued commitment to working closely with Asda in continuing to enhance the prepaid category in the UK."
