Commercial grade cellular connectivity for home, travel

Product: OptConnect Home Office
Company: OptConnect

OptConnect, a managed wireless services provider, released OptConnect Home Office, a portable, end-to-end solution designed to provide commercial grade connectivity to home-based and traveling professionals. The multifaceted, adaptable solution includes everything needed for connecting home and transportable offices to the internet, company representatives stated.

Wayne Vanderkraak, vice president of sales at OptConnect, pointed out that OptConnect Home Office can help professionals stay securely connected while on the go and working from home. The month-to-month subscription service is an ideal short-term solution for executives who are working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic, he stated.

"OptConnect Home Office is uniquely provisioned for critical business use," OptConnect Home Office provides networking essentials," Vanderkraak said. "It boosts unreliable internet speeds in low-coverage areas and provides fully secure encrypted messaging."

A timely solution

Vanderkraak also mentioned that he has seen high demand for secure network communications, devices and resources in the current business environment. "In the first few days of the global business shutdown, people ran to local Verizon and AT&T stores to pick up jet packs," he said. "Business grade jet packs ran out almost immediately."

OptConnect Home Office is specifically designed for commercial environments; its safeguards limit usage to business-related tasks, Vanderkraak noted. "Users can access email, CRMs and Slack, but not YouTube or Zoom calls," he said. "We enable essential workers to contact mobile testing facilities and help medical personnel transmit data on laptops and testing devices."

When OptConnect's authorized resellers and channel partners asked if they could take their OptConnect devices home, the company rapidly designed and deployed OptConnect Home Office, bundling together the hardware, software and services needed to stay connected, Vanderkraak recalled.

Secure connectivity in a box

OptConnect sells its products and services exclusively through its authorized reseller channels, Vanderkraak stated. The company's partners include payment processors, merchant acquirers and third-party service providers.

The OptConnect Home Office solution is ready to use out of the box, Vanderkraak added. In addition to providing cost-effective short-term and immediate internet connectivity, its redundant design is tailored to help users maintain uninterrupted network coverage.

The service's built-in firewall can be managed and upgraded remotely through OptConnect Summit, a management portal. The end-to-end package includes the OptConnect neo, which is a 4G commercial-grade router; 10 GB data plan with Verizon; paddle antennas; Ethernet cable; power adapter; and a quick start guide.

"All OptConnect Home Office users have private IP addresses; agreements are month-to-month and all-inclusive," Vanderkraak said. "The solution includes hardware, high-speed connectivity and everything needed to securely transact and communicate." end of article
