EMV merchant preparedness, prepackaged and just-in-time

Product: EMV Marketing-in-a-Box for POS
Company: Strategic Marketing LLC

Phoenix-based Strategic Marketing LLC has created EMV Marketing-in-a-Box for POS, a comprehensive marketing program designed to educate merchants about payment card security while easing their transition to secure, compliant POS technology.

The prepackaged, brandable materials are specially designed for merchant level salespeople (MLSs), who face the daunting task of preparing their merchant customers for the impending payment network liability shift related to Europay MasterCard and Visa (EMV) implementation, which will take effect in the United States in October 2015.

In preparation for this major milestone, ISOs and MLSs are fielding questions from concerned merchants on a range of issues related to EMV adoption. Many are struggling to understand what EMV is and how it will affect their businesses.

EMV Marketing-in-a-Box is designed to enable the industry's feet on the street to launch a multimedia marketing campaign that employs print, mail, social media and online communications to answer frequently asked questions and demystify much of the EMV process.

The kit includes the following materials:

  • Two-sided sales slick
  • Tri-fold brochure
  • Postcard mailer
  • Statement insert
  • HTML email
  • Facebook and LinkedIn posts
  • Twitter tweets
  • Merchant upgrade letter
  • Merchant EMV FAQ handoutMerchant EMV acceptance quick reference guide
  • Elevator speech/call script

A timely resource

"The marketing Rule of Seven embraces the notion that it takes at least seven impressions of your message before recipients (your merchants) are compelled to take action," said Peggy Bekavac Olson, founder and Principal of Strategic Marketing. She noted that EMV Marketing-in-a-Box for POS provides a variety of materials that enable MLSs to create a steady stream of merchant touch points across multiple communications channels.

EMV Marketing-in-a-Box for POS is designed to educate both existing and prospective merchants. It also contains appropriate call-to-action promptings devised to motivate merchants to call or email and take that important first step toward upgrading their POS equipment.

Within 24 hours of placing an order, sales channel partners will receive an email with a link to access EMV Marketing-in-a-Box materials, Olson noted. The documents, with the exception of the merchant upgrade letter which is in Microsoft Word, are in Adobe PDF format with editable fields for branding. These materials can be downloaded and personalized with company logo, business name, address, telephone number, email address and website URL. end of article
