Highlights: RegTech 2019: Getting to Yes

For years, banks have been paralyzed in their efforts to implement innovative regtech—including artificial intelligence, robotics process automation and blockchain-based solutions— by fear of what regulators will think. Even when agencies in D.C. give a green light on a technology, such as newer anti-money laundering software, local examiners might say something different when they’re onsite doing a a compliance audit.

This year appears to be the one when regulators and financial firms are getting in sync, mutually realizing the benefits of using modern technology to solve age-old compliance concerns, which include efficiency, accuracy and improved information sharing.
