Green Sheet interviews Sopra Banking's Eric Pogu

Sopra Banking Software recently expanded its relationship with Amazon Web Services by joining AWS' Independent Software Vendor Accelerate Program, a co-selling initiative designed to help AWS partners drive business and accelerate turn cycles. Eric Pogu, general manager of services and cloud operations at Sopra Banking Software, noted that the company's platform enables retail, commercial and corporate banks of any size to take an SaaS-driven approach to cloud migration and digitization. Following are highlights from his interview with The Green Sheet.

How does the program protect customer data in transit and at rest?

Data encryption is enabled by default through the ISV Accelerate program. At rest, AWS Key Management Service (KMS) utilizes AES-256 encryption, backed by dedicated hardware certification. In transit, all inbound and outbound network flows are encrypted using top-tier A-grade ciphers, as certified by SSL Labs, along with TLS 1.2 or higher protocols.

How will the program impact or enhance the ways in which Sopra Banking Software manages customer profiles and data?

All applications deployed by SBS are built upon robust security principles, integrating industrial processes and controls that are shared with customers through contractual agreements. Joining the ISV Accelerate program furthers this work by ensuring that all of our customers' data is meticulously managed by secure systems, with redundancy measures providing replication across three distinct and autonomous data centers within AWS availability zones.

What initially attracted you to the AWS ISV Accelerate program?

We first began working with AWS in 2016 with the goal of accelerating the digital transformation of global banks and financial institutions by providing them with scalable data and AI solutions. AWS's history of leadership in cloud technologies within the financial services industry made them a strategic partner for us in this regard. As banks' and financial institutions' digital and cloud ambitions have continued to rise over the past several years, we've been working to scale our solutions alongside them. The ISV Accelerate program creates the opportunity for us to further leverage AWS's expertise and extensive network to drive innovation and expand our global reach.

How do you anticipate that this program will help scale your business?

The ISV Accelerate program's direct connection to AWS's sales organization provides a new avenue for SBS to continue scaling our business. Our continued work together will not only drive new business opportunities and accelerate sales cycles, but tapping further into AWS's extensive network and resources will enable us to expand our reach and engage with a broader audience—ultimately leading to increased growth and market presence.

How will the program strengthen Sopra Banking Software's core values and global reach?

This year, SBS is committed to strengthening our global footprint outside of the EMEA region. A large part of this includes scaling delivery of our cloud-native, Software-as-a-Service based solutions—particularly our wholesale finance and digital audit solutions in the U.S. and beyond. AWS's market presence will bring additional visibility to these offerings by enabling SBS to leverage the AWS sales network worldwide, and vice versa.    The collaboration additionally aligns with SBS's core values of innovation, accessibility, and commitment to guiding banks through digital transformation, reinforcing our mission to contribute to the financial world of tomorrow—making it accessible to everyone, everywhere, anytime.  end of article
