Green Sheet interviews Intergiro's Nick Root

Intergiro, a global banking-as-a-service (BaaS) provider based in Sweden, launched a tech-first, issuing and acquiring platform designed to offer a turnkey approach to financial services. Intergiro CEO Nick Root discussed the company's journey with The Green Sheet. Following are excerpts from the interview.

What differentiates Intergiro from other fintechs in your space?

Intergiro goes against the grain by providing new solutions to old problems. It looks at the issues that traditional banking struggles to solve and aims to provide a fully digital solution to any and all banking and financial needs. By covering a broad range of the payments ecosystem, Intergiro is set to tackle all issues that its clients might have. 

What is unique about our service is that it allows for full personalization. Our clients can avail themselves of our entire technology suite as needed. Our expert team sits down and listens to clients' needs and then provides a tailored offering that would best suit them. The Intergiro solution is essentially a harmony of three pillars: payment processing, issuer solutions and account provision. Fundamentally, it is our ability to bundle all three of these into a single API that is one of the features that makes Intergiro an industry-leading solution.

If Intergiro were to be summed up, its four key features and benefits would have to be our tech-first, full turnkey approach to financial services; solutions that are easy to integrate, being both time- and cost-effective; our platform with everything built from the ground up by tech-native individuals; and, of course, our market-leading customer support.

Can you tell us more about Intergiro and your offering?

To begin with, Intergiro helps businesses by tailoring our services to their specific needs. We always sit down with potential clients and really hammer out what is best for them based on their situation. We then work with them to implement our services by building an API-based integration platform, and our offerings include business banking, banking-as-a-service, and card acquiring solutions. 

Our breadth of solutions gives clients a wide range of options for banking and payments, whether it be instant settlements on money earned online or card acquiring through Mastercard and Visa, just to name two examples. What's more, the Intergiro solution is flexible and can serve as a baseline for our clients to build their own bespoke solution on top of our own. We can provide the full suite of payment and banking solutions, or the minimum required for a business. It's all based on what our clients need.

What are the primary features and benefits of this service offering?

The primary benefit of Intergiro is our ability to provide a range of services through a single vendor, which increases efficiency, reduces costs and enhances security. As a one-stop shop, we're able to support clients on all their banking and payment needs, making it consistent and easier for all clients to manage.

This is supported by a secondary benefit of the Intergiro platform: our structure as a digital-only solution. Taking full advantage of the digital era we live in, we can provide services and solutions that traditional banks struggle to do, allowing us to support a wide variety of clients.
