Payments veteran Marc Beauchamp, author of How to Survive and Thrive in the Merchant Services Industry and creator of Bankcard Bootcamp, recently launched Bankcard Life. Designed to empower and connect payments professionals, the new website and online community provides a platform for like-minded individuals to share experiences, challenges and best practices, Beauchamp stated.
“This business is not easy,” he said. “It takes perseverance, commitment and hard work to build something of significance. I am sharing what I’ve learned over the last 25 years to help members avoid some of the mistakes I made along the way.”
Beauchamp mentioned that the community is a private, recruiter-free zone where members can safely transact without competitive offers or promotional pressures. “It was important to me to create a community that was a safe place, where members weren’t constantly recruited,” he said.
Bankcard Life’s exclusive member-only site provides a number of opportunities for professional development, including payment training, sales training, guest contributors and a growing roster of industry-related articles, script books and resources, and video interviews with successful agents who have built large residual portfolios.
“Empire Builder,” a seven-module course, helps agents and ISOs build direct and indirect sales channels. Training modules include strategy development, compensation plan creation, advertising and marketing, interviewing and hiring, and training. All Empire Builder materials are brandable, Beauchamp noted.
Another component of Bankcard Life is a private platform members can access from their mobile and connected devices. The community offers opportunities to engage with like-minded professionals. The downloadable app offers video, chat, member postings, best practices and live training content updated weekly.
Community members will also find opportunities to participate in mini and longer, 90-day challenges designed to help them clarify Beauchamp’s five domains of success: purpose, possibility, power, production and profit. Individual members can customize their journey by mapping their experience to purpose-built tools designed for their level of experience, Beauchamp noted.
“The Bankcard Life framework is built around how each individual can be most productive in their business and life,” he said. “The interface enables them to focus on top areas of interest and easily adapt as they grow and scale their careers and businesses.”
Over the course of his payments career, which began in 1995, Beauchamp has hired and trained several thousand merchant services professionals, most recently when he served as president of an ISO with over 2,000 sales partners and $2 billion in annual processing volume.
Beauchamp said he drew on his more than 30 years of experience in sales, training and marketing in various roles to design and develop The Framework, Bankcard Life’s unique training program that combines live training and interactive modules.
“The Framework helps ISOs and agents take responsibility for their results and expand productivity in body, being, balance and business, while navigating the everyday challenges facing field sales representatives, sales managers, issuers, acquirers and ISOs,” he said.
