Paybefore Awards honor excellence

At the Seventh Annual Paybefore Awards ceremony held during the Prepaid Expo in Orlando, Fla., several companies were recognized. Kaiku Finance, Better ATM SErvices and The Bancorp Payment Solutions Group were among the winners:

• Kaiku Finance was named Best-in-Category for its KAIKU Visa Prepaid Card in the Outstanding Newcomer category. It was also a winner in the Best General Purpose Reloadable Card category. “It is an incredible honor to be recognized as a Paybefore winner, and in particular, best-in-category for 'Outstanding Newcomer.' Receiving these awards further reinforces our desire to redefine the prepaid experience and provide rich features that meet consumers’ needs” said Kaiku Finance Chief Executive Officer, Jon Round. “KAIKU was founded to enhance one’s lifestyle. We look forward to continuing to provide solutions for our consumers and help lead a new dawn of prepaid."

• Better ATM Services received the Judges' Choice Award in recognition of the company's impact on both the prepaid and ATM industries with the introduction of the ATM-dispensed Visa Inc. prepaid gift card. In accepting the award, Better ATM Services CEO Todd Nuttall said, "We are honored by this recognition of the important contribution our game-changing technology is making in the prepaid and ATM industries. ATM-dispensed gift cards and other prepaid media automate costly, time-consuming, over-the-counter sales for the world's financial institutions, while bringing back customers who are going elsewhere to purchase their prepaid products."

• The Bancorp Payment Solutions Group's Benefits Debit MasterCard and Benefits Visa Debit Card were recognized in the Best Benefits Distribution Card Program category. Using Alegeus Technologies' WealthCare Portal or WealthCare Mobile application, the cards enable participants to pay for services with their debit cards rather than paying out of pocket and submitting claims for reimbursement. “We are honored to share this recognition with Alegeus Technologies,” said Jeremy Kuiper, Managing Director, The Bancorp Bank. “This program offers unique plan designs to meet the most unusual or creative of consumer directed benefits."

The Paybefore Awards recognize excellence in the worldwide prepaid and emerging payments industry. The Prepaid Expo took place March 4 through 6, 2013.
