Southfield, Mich., August 28, 2008 — Jill Miller, an associate with the Southfield office of Michigan-based Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss, P.C., has been appointed to the Risk and Fraud Management Committee of the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA). Jaffe CEO Richard Zussman made the announcement.
The ETA, based in Washington D.C., is the premier trade association representing the payments business. It serves businesses offering payment processing services to merchants through education, advocacy and the exchange of information. The ETA has over 500 member companies throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe, including banks, credit and gift card processors, and independent sales organizations.
The Risk and Fraud Management Committee monitors risk, fraud, and compliance-related issues in the industry and recommends best practices and other risk mitigation strategies while promoting cooperation with various law enforcement bodies at the national and state levels. Miller will serve a one-year term on the committee, which commenced July 1, 2008.
Miller is a member of Jaffe’s Finance Practice Group. She is a 1993 graduate of Eastern Michigan University and a 2004 cum laude graduate of the Michigan State University College of Law. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the American Bar Association.
