The VeriFone division of HP has signed an agreement with Atlanta-based Lynk Systems for 20,000 Omni 3200 POS payment systems. Lynk has completed a successful pilot test of the companiesí combined solutions with Atlanta-area merchants and says it intends to implement the solution for retail and hospitality customers nationwide.

Lynk and VeriFone are positioned to deliver merchants a POS payment solution that combines VeriFoneís Omni 3200 payment system with Lynkís application-development and transaction-processing expertise. "This relationship enables us to offer a solution that combines our services with a very fast, reliable, easy-to-use terminal that supports current and future payment applications," said Ed Uzialko, president and chief executive officer of Lynk Systems, Inc.

Bud Waller, vice president of North American Sales for VeriFone said, "Our new Omni 3200 terminal, running VeriFone SoftPay software, is designed to provide Lynk significant cost savings through a lower total cost of ownership when compared to competitive POS terminals." SoftPay software provides merchants with the flexibility to process credit, debit, check, and EBT transactions on one device at the point-of-sale. The software package is a PC-based configuration software tool, allowing for a wide range of options that can be tailored to meet specific merchant requirements.
